HARS

Historical Aircraft Restoration Society
Dedicated to keeping Australian Aviation History "in the air".

All donations to HARS are tax deductible.

The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society, is based at Wollongong airport, Albion Park, NSW, Australia. To get there, take the F6 Freeway South of Sydney, go past the roundabout at the runway threshold and turn right at the first set of traffic lights.

Whilst most of the members of HARS are "retired", the maintenance personnel collectively represent arguably the most extensive knowledge-base of Aviation Maintenance Engineering in the Southern Hemisphere.

The people who fly the aeroplanes are highly experienced and often have over 15,000 to 20,000 hours in their Pilot Logbooks.

HARS is open on all but a couple of days per year from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. To get any sort of real enjoyment, a guided tour is a must - visitors must be escorted through all but a small portion of the areas as they are working hangars with real aeroplanes.

Expect to spend up to two hours exploring - I have had visitor descriptions of "Aladdin's Cave" and "Tardis". There is so much more than you expect. Tours are not started after 2.30 pm as we can simply not give value for money for such a short visit.

Standard tour cost is $15, with Senior and Family rates as well.
